Welcome back to another Step it out Sunday. Last week we talked about Kit Combos, and how to get more out of your sets. Well this week we are going to be creating something that some of us struggle with, Masculine cards.
I love vintage, rust and all things that look like they are going to fall apart, so when Tierra Jackson created this truck I HAD to have it… Perfect for Masculine cards.
Here is our first card for today.
Kits used are- YOU ARE WORTH IT
This truck is FANTASTIC, and I paired it with You are Worth It. Don’t they go perfect together? Great Masculine kits.
Products used are-
- I colored the project with Watercolors and Distress ink
- Distress inks – Candied Apple Festive Berries & Hickory Smoke for the Truck
- Mowed Lawn, Mustard Seed, for the gas pump
- Tim Holtz washi
- Sizzix Tim Holtz Splatter
- Plastic gear
I used Glossy Accents for the glob part of the gas pump and the lights on the truck to give them a shine. I stamped out the pump and then I took vintage photo distress ink and distressed the edges of the paper. I also ripped the edges a little to give it a vintage feel. Then I added the washi and glued on the truck.
For the craft paper I stamped the tire stamp from-YOUR WORTH IT in black ink set and took Ground Espresso Distress ink and inked the edges of the craft paper. The Splatter embossing folder from Sizzix is a perfect fit for this card.
Our Next Masculine card is one of my favorites! Look at that moon in the skyline!
Isn’t this fun???
- Products used are-
- Tim Holtz City Dies
- Sizzix Embossing Folder Brick
- Copic Markers
- Black Soot Distress ink
I like to use my Copic markers a little different then most people. I like to put down my darkest color first then my medium then I can blend it right in with my lightest.
The Tim Holtz city skyline is perfect fit with this truck.
Our Next Masculine card is so fun!
- Tim Holtz Splatter Embossing Folder
- Gears Stincle
- Gears Diecuts
- Gina Marie Designs Die
- Vintage Photo for Distressing the edges, Embossed and Stincl
Copic Marker So I colored the image with Copics and then added some sine with a white gel pen.
I cute out the Gears with Metallics Foil Cardstock.
Do you know a Motorcycle Guy?
- This Masculine card is made with the Kit Hawg
- Products used- Sizzix Jen Long Thinlits
- Gina Marie Design Dies
- Cricut Classic Font
- Sizzix Brick Embossing Folder
- Tim Holtz Washi Tape
Have you been seeing the raised images over the cards? I have and I am obsessed with them. So why not show you how I do it.
I stamp out my image, then I go to my cricut Craft Room and design where I want everything lined up for the card. I always cut on a scrap piece of paper before I cut the actual image ( just in case its not lined up right).
I used raised pop dots for the words and glue down the inside part of the words to give it the 3D effect. This Kit is full of great guy stuff.
This Masculine card is from the same Kit- Hawg
Sentiment- Forrest Guy
Tire tread- You are Worth it
- Products used- Sizzix Lori Whitlock Thinklits
- Tim Holtz Square Framelits
- Copic Markers
- Tim Holtz Washi Tape
I have shared this one once before, but I love it. I used the smooching technique.
Products used are
- Distress inks and Oxide inks- Rusty Hinge, Peeled Paint, Wild Honey, Fossilized Amber
- Gina Marie Design Dies
- Washi Tape
I put the colors down on my Ranger Mat, and used my Tim Holtz water spritzer. Then I took my paper and used the Smooching Technique. Dried it and added more color.
I put the colors down on my Ranger Mat, and used my Tim Holtz water spritzer. Then I took my paper and used the Smooching Technique. Dried it and added more color till i get my desired look. Oxide inks mixed with Distress inks are AMAZING.
I hope you have enjoyed today’s look at Masculine cards, and if you give some of these techniques out tag me in the Unity Show and Tell so I can check out your amazing cards.
Thanks again and if you have any questions please feel free to leave a comment on the Unity Stamp Co. Page so I can answer it for you. Till next Sunday, have a great crafting afternoon!
