Hello, it’s Gaylynn here with my fifth installment of my Watercolor Wednesday series. I will show one way to add accents like watercolor roses with stamping, here on the Unity blog.
Another way to create handmade card accents is by adding watercolor roses with stamping. For today’s project, I created a card with a stamped print background and stamped flowers. However, this time I used watercolor for the roses and then fussy cut them. This is showing another way to create using watercolor.
Sentiment: Happy birthday from all of us.

I made a video tutorial for this card, showing you how to watercolor roses with stamping. It includes instructions along the way throughout the video, however, a written process follows below.
Watercolor Roses with Stamping

(See also the video tutorial for this project.)
To begin, I stamped a print background panel for the card. I used repeat stamping for this.
I stamped the sentiment onto die-cut oval layers
For the roses, I stamped onto watercolor paper with waterproof ink.
I used Prima Water Soluble Oil Pastels for watercolor.
Apply your color choices onto a plastic craft mat.
Using a wet brush and water, apply one color at a time to the roses. Dry between colors.
Trim around the roses (fussy cut). Add distress ink to the edges.
With a wet brush, add watercolor splatters to the background.
Adhere the layers, along with rhinestones sequins.
Here is another look at my watercolor rose card.

We would love to see what you make with this technique. Share your project on the Unity Show and Tell facebook page. Request to join there, if you haven’t already done so.
