Easy stamping, embossing, and coloring for beautiful quick and simple cards.

Easy stamping, embossing, and coloring for beautiful quick and simple cards.

Happy stamping therapy Thursday! Welcome back crafty friends. Today I have a video tutorial with easy stamping, embossing, and coloring. Nothing fancy. Sometimes we caught up in all the techniques and forget about the basics. These basics techniques can make stunning cards.

I love embossing in white with florals. Pair it with kraft card stock and I am obsessed! The white embossing makes the color in the flowers really pop. So there is no need to do any fancy coloring. Don’t get me wrong. I love coloring but, sometimes it’s nice to not have to worry about light source, shadows, highlights, and shading. Nothing but simple easy coloring.

Kits Used:

March Florals and Simple Wisdom

Easy stamping, embossing, and coloring.

This technique is great to use for a big impact with little effort. Instead of using water based marker. It is great to use with colored pencils as well. Sometimes I will use colored pencils for fine stamped images where the markers can’t reach. You get the exact effect as you do with markers. I used Stampin Up markers in tempting turquoise and green galore. Distress markers would work great for this as well. Even basic Crayola markers would work too. Any water based marker. Alcohol ink markers like Copics or Spectrum Noir do not work well with embossed images. The ink sticks to the white embossed areas of your image and doesn’t give that pop of white from the embossing.

Two more samples using the same technique

Here is another sample of easy stamped, embossed, and colored card. For this card I used January Florals and Simple Wisdom kits. I stamped the floral in the back first in distress oxide seedless preserves. Let ink dry. Then stamped with VersaMark and embossed with white embossing powder. Colored with Stampin Up markers in marvelous magenta and green galore. Added sequins and sentiment.

For this last sample. I used April Florals and Simple Wisdom kits.  Stamped the background florals in regular distress ink in victorian velvet. Then stamped with VersaMark and embossed with white embossing powder. Colored with Stampin Up markers in pixie pink and green galore. Added sequins and sentiment.

All three of the card samples are made with the bullet journaling kits. These kits have amazing florals that work great for card making as well as bullet journaling.

I hope you found some inspiration in this easy stamping, embossing, and coloring. If you try this technique out for yourself, tag me over on the Unity Show and Tell Facebook group. I would love to see what you make with this technique. I love seeing your creations so much. If you missed last weeks stamping therapy post. Click here to take you to that blog post on stamping with alcohol inks. That is our time for today!

Thank you so much for joining me this Thursday.

Until next time, stamp on!
