Happy Thursday! Welcome back to another stamping therapy session. Today I have a video tutorial for you on how to use dry embossing with stamped images. Embossing adds a lot of texture and interest to your projects.
Adding embossing to your stamped images is a great way to use those large open stamps. Sometimes I don’t always feel like coloring. This is a great way to get a stamped image with no coloring. Don’t get me wrong. I love coloring but I also love adding texture to my cards and embossing a stamped image is a perfect way to achieve that texture.

How to: Use dry embossing with stamped images
This technique works well with all kinds of different embossing folders. It’s fun to emboss with different designs on the same project for lots of texture. The possibilities are endless. Especially paired with Unity stamps!
Two more samples using the same technique
Here is another sample I used dry embossing with a stamped image. I ink smooshed distress oxide in vintage photo and walnut stain on water color paper. Then stamped the splatter mark and coffee ring in distress oxide walnut stain. Stamped coffee cup on to SU indigo island and embossed. Added sentiment. The three kits I used for this card are. SMAK January 2017 Progress and Change, Cuppa Comfort, and Sweet Tea Kitty.
For the last sample I used the same technique. Stamped out flower, fussy cut image, and then embossed. I ink blended the background with distress oxide in broken china and peacock feathers. Then stamped Vintage Ledger and the script stamp from Hug kit. Distressed the edges and added the flower. Paint splattered with diluted black acrylic paint and added sentiment. The flower stamp came from September 2017 KOTM- Flowers, Foliage, and Fall.
I hope you found some inspiration using dry embossing with stamped images. If you try this technique out for yourself, tag me over on the Unity Show and Tell Facebook group. I would love to see what you make with this technique. I love seeing your creations so much. If you missed last weeks stamping therapy post. Until next time, stamp on!
