Hello, it’s Gaylynn here with another installment of my Watercolor Wednesday series. For this card, I am sharing a way to add a Gelatos watercolor background with stamping.
For today’s project, I created an all occasion handmade card using a Gelatos watercolor background technique. This is an easy way to add a creamy but vibrant look to a stamped background.

I made a video tutorial for this Gelatos watercolor card. It includes instructions along the way throughout the video, however, a written process follows below.

(See also the video tutorial for this project.)
Stamp with waterproof ink onto watercolor paper. Use a water bowl or dropper, brushes and Gelatos colors.
Apply a generous amount of each creamy Gelatos color onto a craft mat or acrylic block. With a wet brush, add color to the background.
Change colors, blending where they meet. Mix colors if preferred to make more hues.
I added color as I went along to get the brightness that I wanted. Heat set.
Add white splatters. I used both white Gelatos and white Dylusions spray ink by tapping the brush or applicator.
Heat set again. Assemble the card and sequin embellishments.
Here is another look at my card.

Catch me next Wednesday with a new project for Unity’s Watercolor Wednesday.
Have a lovely day.
