Making a cut away card

Making a cut away card

Happy Thursday! Welcome back to another stamping therapy session. Today I have a video tutorial for you showing  how to make a cut away card. This is a fun technique that adds dimension to your cards.

With this technique I made all masculine card samples. Sometimes it’s hard to come up with masculine cards with all the pretty flowers available. Maybe that’s just me. Onto the video.

Kits used:

All Cylinders, Dad Is There, and SMAK 5/17- Unleash Your Happy

Cut away card

Love a classic car. This kit would be great for all kinds of cards.

Two more samples using the cut away technique

I used SMAK 10/17- Winter Wild and Dad Is There for this card. I stamped the trees in brown ink then again in green ink onto kraft card stock. Then stamped the moose onto another kraft card panel. Colored the moose with Copic markers. Stamped the water with the background stamp that comes in this kit in distress oxide in broken china. Fussy cut and popped up the moose panel with foam tape. Added sentiment.

I used Patience & Hugs, I’m Obsessed Birdies, and Dad Is There. Used the same technique. I stamped the bear and Copic colored. Then cut away half of the card. Used patterned paper for background.

No matter who your special guy is in your life. Anything from cars, to outdoors, to fun. Unity has them covered with all kinds of masculine stamps to choose from. Click here to check out the stamps available For The Guys.

I hope you found some inspiration on making a cut away card. If you try this technique out for yourself, tag me over on the Unity Show and Tell Facebook group. I would love to see what you make with this technique. I love seeing your creations so much. If you missed last weeks stamping therapy post. Click here to take you to that blog post on how to paper piece. That is our time for today!

Thank you so much for joining me this Thursday.

Until next time, stamp on!
