Shaving cream technique

Shaving cream technique

Happy Thursday! Welcome back to another stamping therapy session. Today I have a video tutorial for you showing you how to do the shaving cream technique. This is a super fun background technique. It is a bit messy but fun! Let’s get to it.

I am such a sucker for background techniques. Any technique that you can make a whole bunch of card panels to have on hand is alright in my book. Plus it’s fun to get messy. I hope you enjoy this technique as much as I do.

Kits used:

Keep Wild, Better with Friends, and Inspired Minds.

With this technique I like to stick to similar colors. To many different colors and you can make brown fairly easy. You can also use acrylic paints with this technique as well. I love to just sit and play to see what I can come up with. I love the techniques that are random like this. Because you will never be able to do the exact same thing. Each one is unique and I love that.

Two more samples using the same technique

For this card I used Give With All Your Heart and I Am More. I also used a splatter stamp from March 2017 SMAK- Let Go & Breathe. Started with a shaving cram background card panel. Stamped spatter image in blue ink. Stamped and embossed both the girl and the sentiment. Distressed the edges to finish off the card.

For this card I used Better With Friends kit. Started with a shaving cream background card panel. Stamped the background image in distress oxide broken china. Then stamped the flowers onto card panel. Stamped flowers again onto white card stock and colored with Copic markers. Fussy cut and glued to card panel. Stamped and embossed sentiment.

I hope you found some inspiration from the shaving cream technique. If you try this technique out for yourself, tag me over on the Unity Show and Tell Facebook group. I would love to see what you make with this technique. I love seeing your creations so much. If you missed last weeks stamping therapy post. Click here to take you to that blog post on chalk magic using VersaMark ink. That is our time for today!

Thank you so much for joining me this Thursday.

Until next time, stamp on!
