Hi everyone, Laurel here again with more gingham and denim – a good mix for some upcoming celebrations like Canada Day and Independence Day don’t you think?
I really wanted to create something for Canada Day and of course this could be altered for Independence Day. I began with the Gurnsey Gingham to create my background paper. The main panel was created with the Vintage Ledger stamp set.
I then used the Never Be Afraid (August 2017 KOTM) set. First I stamped the tree from the set onto the main panel for a subtle effect. I then stamped, cut out and then stapled the leaf to the card front.
The Drew Girl had the look I was going for so I stamped and paper pieced her. I stamped the pants onto some old denim and then cut it out. She is mounted on foam squares for some dimension.
Finally, the sentiment was stamped, cut out and adhered. I added some messy stitching, twine and sequins for more detail.
Thanks for visiting today.
Are you celebrating your country this year? What will you be doing?
