Hello, it’s Gaylynn here with another installment of my Watercolor Wednesday series. For this card, I used metallic watercolor on a dark background.
Today’s handmade card is for celebration occasions. I used silver and gold metallic watercolor magnolia flowers. It is perfect for birthday, graduation, congratulations, wedding, bridal showers and more.
Sentiment: Oh happy day.

For this project, I made a video tutorial for this metallic watercolor magnolias card. It includes instructions along the way throughout the video. However, a written process follows below.
Silver & Gold Metallic Watercolor Magnolias Card

(See also the video tutorial for this project.)
To begin, stamp and heat emboss in white over dark cardstock. Pre-powder paper prior to
embossing to prevent stray embossing powder.
I used Gansai Tambi Starry Colors in metallic silver and light gold colors. Apply watercolor by section to the flower petals. Heat set.
Finally, add the flower panel to your card base. Then add metallic cording and gems to finish.
Here is another look at my card.
The metallic shimmer is difficult to photograph. In person, it shines beautifully. The shimmer does, however, show up better in the video tutorial. Be sure to see the entire process from start to finish in the video, above.

Catch me next Wednesday with a new project for Unity’s Watercolor Wednesday. Thanks so much for visiting.
Wishing you a happy day.
