Mixed Media Art

July 15, 2018 - by Amanda Garrett

Mixed Media Art

Hi Amanda here with another STEP IT OUT SUNDAY. Have  you ever given Mixed Media a try??? OH it’s sooooo much fun. Such a fun way to mix and match your stamp sets to make something wonderful. I used a few kits to make this fun Mixed Media page. So I hope you play along here are a few things I used to make my page.

Canson Watercolor Paper

Tim Holtz Distress ink and Oxide inks

Watercolor Pant brush

Amalgam or Stazon Ink

VersaMark Ink

White Embossing Powder

Stencils

Your Favorite Mixed Media Stamps.

Tim Holtz distress Crayons or Gelatos

OK lets get started.

I used the Flower from You are Important

So the first thing I did was stamp out my Flower with Amalgam ink.

I love this ink I don’t have to switch from Momento to stazOn I can use watercolor or copic markers with no problem.

I used my Gelatos and colored up the flower with some oranges, yellows, reds, blacks, and some purples.

I used Keep Wild and stamped it with VersaMark ink and then used white embossing powder and heat set it.

I then used my distress inks  Peacocks feathers, Broken china, and Peeled paint, for the background. I love using these colors together. I stamped ink on my Mixed media craft mat from Ranger and used my waterbrush and painted it on my canson watercolor paper.

Then took the lace stamp from the  SMAK kit and used my Amalgam ink and stamped it randomly around my page.

My background stamps I used are from kits

SMAK April 2018

Keep Wild

Then I took my stencils that I LOVE from Tim Holtz  and Used my Oxide inks Peacock feathers and WIld Honey. With my blending tool I applied the inks.

I LOVE how it turned out. The sentiment so so powerful, my plan is to put it in a frame and hang it up.

I hope you have enjoyed today’s mixed media art page. Well that’s all for me today and as always Keep Stamping!
