Hi all and welcome back to another Step it out Sunday!
I am here today showing you how I created this fun delicate look called No line coloring. I love doing this technique with flowers. It is hands down my favorite way to color these Beautiful flower stamps form Unity Stamp Co.
I am going to walk you through step by step so you too can create this fun, beautiful look!
So lets get started here are the kits and a list of items I used to achieve this look.
Kits Used:
>>>Magnolia Flowers<<<
>>>Hey Friend<<<
>>>Sending Up Something Beautiful<<<
Watercolor brush or brush pen
Tim Holtz Distress Ink Antique linen
Watercolors – I use zig Clean Color Real Brush pens
Washi tape
twine
>>>Moonshine Confetti Sequin Mix<<<
Glue
Fussy cutting scissors
Embossing powder
Glimmer Mist
Ok lets get started. I used my Misti it’s a great tool to have in your collection for a few reasons, mass producing your cards and if you don’t get the full image the first stamp you can go right back and re-stamp it with out messing it up.
I used my Distress ink Antique Linen to stamp the image out. The reason we do this is because you want the image to be light but dark enough to see it so you know where to color. We stamp this on Canson Watercolor paper.
Next we want to take our watercolor markers or watercolor paints and start coloring in small areas of the image like this.
I do small areas as to make things blend well and the longer you leave the makers on the paper the harder it is to make them move around.
Next we take our water brush pens or brushes get them wet and start working that color around the petals.
I then do this to all the flower petals, adding shading as I go.
This flower is stunning! For the leaf I used the Hey Friend set it goes perfectly with this flower.
I fussy cut out the 2 flowers and the leaf then sprayed the Glimmer mist on them to make them sparkle.
Be careful if you use the glimmer mist and watercolor. It can leave water drops on your creation, so just heat set is right away.
I then added my twine and glued it down to my card with the flowers.
I wanted my sentiment to stand out and match the sequin mix so I used silver embossing powder on black card stock.
No line coloring is a great way to add interest to your work.
Well that’s all the time we have for today. I hope I was able to inspire you today and to give No line coloring a try.
See you next Sunday and Keep Stamping!
