Hi all Amanda here and welcome to today’s Step it out Thursday’s.
Galaxy Sky’s and Campers OH MY!
I am so ecited to share with you some of the fun things I have been working on. I love vintage campers and I love galaxy backgrounds. So I thought why not combine the two. Ooooo and I forgot to mention PAPER PIECING! hahaha. that’s right 3 of my favorite things in one project!
Kits used are:
Diecuts used are Lawn Fawn lawn cuts
Sizzix Rectangles
So I chose my papers and stamped them with the campers then fussy cute them out. I stamped them out on white paper right away too just so I didn’t have to clean them again. Saving time and steps…
I colored the doors and windows with Copic markers.
Those Mountains, I fussy cute them out and cute them apart so I could layer them up, I stamped them out on a gray card stock. I added sticles to the tops of them so they shine.
For the rolling Hills I used the Lawn fawn Die and used different pattern papers and with this kit comes the grass.
The pine trees I used my cricut.
The galaxy sky is a pattern paper.
I Just Love the good vibes this gives.
Kits Used:
So Lets start with the Galaxy sky. I didn’t want to have pinks in the sky this time so I just did blues.
TO do the Galaxy sky you just have to keep working the color. It is best to do this on a craft mat so your blending tool can glide over your paper.
I always start with my colors first and black is last. So I chose Peacock feathers Distress ink as my blue color and Black Soot Distress ink. I start off the paper at first so I don’t leave any ridged lines, then blend it on to my paper. The best part about using a craft mat is you don’t waist any of the ink, you just pick it back up with you blending tool and use it up!
Go over that a few times, then bring in your black, now I have found that if I go over the colors a little with the black it really looks cool!
I added my Kaiser white iridescent mist to it and that’s it. Galaxy sky in minutes.
I added a few glitter star shapes for fun.
I colored the camper with copic markers and fussy cute it out.
Kit used :
So this one was a fun one.
I created the back ground the same way. Isn’t this kit CUTE!
I went around and around with this next one.
It is a 8X10 canvas I painted it black and let it dry. Then I added blues and magenta to make the Galaxy sky. I used a sponge to apply the colors so that it wasn’t to uniformed, adding lighter colors to the top. Then I took my white paint and splattered it to make the stars.
Again with the campers I paper pieced them along with the hills and sewed around them.
The Trees, outhouse and Moon are Cricut cut outs.

As always Keep stamping!
