Quick and Easy Inspirational Rocks

Quick and Easy Inspirational Rocks

Hi everyone I have a quick and easy project today using rocks to create Inspirational Rocks.

Have you heard of the Kindness Rock project? Or have you seen how people are painting fun designs onto rocks and then leaving them out in their communities? Well I have been collecting rocks for awhile now – I have a thing with rocks. Anyways, the other day on Facebook I saw that an 18 year old girl in the UK was leaving random notes on a popular suicide bridge. Those little notes helped at least 6 people!

So I thought I would do the same type of thing, but use Unity stamps  to create inspirational rocks.  As you know… Unity has a TON of quotes. The quotes were what first sold me on Unity and being a kit subscriber many years ago!

I have used many KOTM and stamp sets for this.

The first thing I did was basecoat my rocks. I like white – clean looking and easy to spot out in the community.  Next time, and the next time I will be getting my grand daughter involved, I will do a variety of colors.

I then went through my stash of Unity stamps (I do have a few 😉 ) and looked for quote stamps that would fit my rocks (of course the rocks have to be flat’ish’ – I didn’t actually worry about perfect stamping as I like the ‘worn’ look and imperfection for this type of project as well.

Because these were going to be left outside I used acrylic paint rather than ink for the sentiments. I find when doing this, daubing the paint on works well.

Once done, I finished them with a sealer.

Each time I go for a run I have left some along the trails.

So there you have it. A quick and easy project that you can do with your kids. Wouldn’t they have fun scattering these around their community.

Stamps used: Never Be Afraid KOTM; Life is Change KOTM; Open Sky, Deep Ocean KOTM; Be Your Own Beautiful SMAK; A Summer Story KOTM; Moment by Moment; Naturally You
