Hello Friends happy Friday!!
It’s Mandi here with another installment of Mix It Up.
Today I am sharing a couple of tags I made with this lovely butterfly stamp set called Butterfly Beauty .
I LOVE butterflies and have almost every butterfly stamp Unity has ever made.
I only have a couple more to add to my collection and this set was one of them.
This is an older kit from Unity.
I am sure I recall Angela saying it was one of the first butterfly kits put into production.
This set has been on my wish list for years and I finally ordered it last week. When I opened this stamp set I was shocked to see how big those butterflies were. They are as big as palm of my hand. They are truly stunning. If you love butterflies like me you must own this stamp set.
I had planned to make a background with them initially thinking they would be smaller. However since they were so big those beauties deserved to be showcased on their own. So I made them a feature on front of a tag instead.
This stamp set comes with some lovely inspirational words. I chose a word for each tag to create a background with.
I started off by using Watermark Resist Ink and stamped the word Beauty over my tag and then embossed it using white embossing powder.
Then I took a Distress Spray Stain in the colour or Picked Raspberry and sprayed the tag all over with the ink. I put mine into a shoe box to spray as it contains the ink and you have less mess to clean.
I dried that with my heat tool. Then added some water splashes and dried it again.
Next I heat embossed two butterflies with the same ink and embossing powder.
I used a different colour of stain this time this one is called Broken China.
Then I took some seam binding ribbon and sprayed it with the stain and dried it with my heat tool.
I like to colour coordinate my ribbon to match my projects.
Then it was time to assemble everything together. I cut out the butterflies and used foam tape to adhere them to my tag. Then tied the ribbon to the top of the tag. Finally I took a few Unity Moonshine Sequins to embellish the opposite edges of tag.
I did the exact same thing to create the other tag only I used a different butterfly and word from the kit. I also switched the colours around.
Here is another look at them both together.
I love the way they turned out. Those butterflies are just amazing.
I hope you enjoyed my project today.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Happy Crafting!
