Hi everyone, Laurel here sharing more of my favourite stamp sets. Have you noticed that many of my projects incorporate the SMAK or KOTM? Are you a subscriber? They are definitely worth it, so many stamps and they are timeless!
Today is no different. I wanted to create a gratitude journal and using a traveler’s notebook works perfectly for this. Of course…. I had to pretty up the cover – and that is where Unity comes in 🙂
I used the Thankful-Gratitude-Family SMAK kit for the main words. I paper pieced the large Thankful word, but before doing that I overlapped the ‘gratitude’ word slightly then added interest using stamp from the Life is What You Make it SMAK kit.
Once I did that and was happy with it, I just stamped the Thankful word onto scraps of paper (hint: you only need to ink up and stamp the part of the word you are going to use). It is a great way to use scraps of paper!
I then really love the sentiment “Gratitude is the heart’s memory” from the Life is Change KOTM. Since I had already used the large ‘gratitude’ I used a piece of tape and taped it off of the small sentiment, inked up the stamp then removed the tape and stamped the rest of the sentiment, slightly overlapping the large gratitude.
As a final touch, since I love oak leaves and the patterns on the one in the Life is Change kit, really is fun, I had to add it. I stamped, cut it out adhered and stitched it on. A project never seems complete to me if it doesn’t have some stitching/staples somewhere 😉
Now that the cover is complete I can just add the little things I am thankful for. I am loving the traveler’s notebook style of memory keeping.
