Hello, it’s Gaylynn here with another installment of my Watercolor Wednesday series. This is my first attempt at making a watercolor space galaxy card background.
This personalized name card was made special for a friend’s baby shower. Her theme is Star Wars, hence his name. So I had to try making a space galaxy scene emulating stars. I used Colourcraft Brusho Crystal Colours. It provided the effect that I was looking for.

I made a quick video tutorial for this. It includes instructions along the way throughout the video. However, the written process follows below.

(See also the video tutorial for this project.)
To make the galaxy background, use watercolor paper.
Brush a layer of water onto the paper and then lightly sprinkle 2 to 3 Brusho crystal colors.
Allow the colors to blend and move. Add more water if desired.
Blot puddles and then dry with a heat tool.
Splatter white paint or ink over the background to emulate stars.
Adhere the background to the card base.
Pre-cut or stamp a name panel for the top layer. Adhere that to the watercolor panel.
Stamp and heat emboss accents. I used stars embossed in silver and then fussy cut them to finish.
Here is another look.
