Hello, it’s Gaylynn here with another installment of my Watercolor Wednesday series. I am sharing a way to use distress ink pads to create a card with a brick watercolor background.
With distress ink pads in two colors along with brick heat embossing, this watercolor background came to life. I used an ink smooshing technique to get a weathered color blending look.
Sentiment: Be obsessively grateful.

I made a quick video tutorial for this. It includes instructions along the way throughout the video. However, the written process follows.

Stamp onto watercolor paper with embossing ink. I used ColorBox white ink with clear embossing powder.
Heat set. Stamp and emboss the sentiment onto vellum. I used StazOn ink with embossing powder.
On a plastic craft mat, apply sections of distress ink color. Spritz with water. Lay the stamping over the ink.
With a water brush, move around or add color as needed. Heat set.
Embellish and assemble the card.
Here is another look.
