Welcome back to another Quick Card with Laura! I aim to give you tips in getting a great card, fast!
The Project
This week we are going to focus on coloring and stamping at the same time. Boom. Two steps in one. It’s a super fast way to create a colorful card, especially with solid stamps, though you don’t have to use a solid stamp. It only took 14:18 to make this one.
The Steps
For my solid stamp I chose Hollyhocks, by Donna Downey. I love this stamp and it’s so easy to make something quick, yet stunning with it. Girl Truly is where I found my sentiment. For my colors, I chose Chipped Sapphire, Aged Mahogany, and Seedless Preserve Distress Inks. Feel free to use the ink of your choice, like pigment inks, watercolor pens, Oxides, or markers, just add directly to the stamp.
If you haven’t used this stamp, it’s HUGE, much larger than my biggest acrylic block, so I had to get inventive.
Quick Tip: you can use the acrylic cutting pad from your Big Shot or other die cut machine for oversized stamps.
Ink up with your first color. My first was my darkest color, Chipped Sapphire, to create the background shadow flowers. I stamped it with both first generation stamping and second generation stamping. It gives it great depth. Next up was Aged Mahogany, followed by Seedless Preserves. I also varied the height of the flowers, for more depth and definition.
After the flowers were on my base, I stamped out the sentiment on another piece of watercolor paper. Then I added sequins. Finally I matted onto a midnight blue base.

The Challenge
Here is your challenge for this week. Create a card or project inking color directly onto your stamp and it will be open for one week. Share it over in the album on the Unity {Show & Tell}— I can’t wait to see what you create!
Happy stamping!
