It’s Gaylynn here with another installment of my Watercolor Wednesday series. This is a way to make your focus pop. I used a spotlight watercolor technique for this card.
Select the main focal point for a pop of color. For this card, I used spotlight watercolor for the top pears. The background was left simply stamped in gray. Layers were added for accents.

I made a quick video tutorial for this. It includes instructions along the way throughout the video. However, the written process follows.
Spotlight Watercolor Pear Card

(See also the video tutorial for this project.)
To begin, I stamped the background onto cardstock with archival ink.
The Misti was used for stamp placement. I masked some areas using the stamp backing.
Then, for the top pear, I stamped onto the smooth side of watercolor paper.
I added Altenew watercolor in layers from dark to light, and then repeated.
Blend out color with a damp brush from the darker areas. Add more color & water when needed.
Splatters were added to the background. Then the watercolor pears were fussy cut for accent.
Finally, everything was layered to finish the card.
