It’s Gaylynn here with another installment of my Watercolor Wednesday series. I am sharing one of many ways to combine stamping with heat embossed foiling and watercolor.
For this card, I stamped onto smooth cardstock with VersaMark ink and then heat embossed the floral panel. Foiling was added to the embossed panel with the use of a laminating machine. Then light watercolor was added.
Sentiment: You’re great. I like you lots.

I made a quick video tutorial for this. It includes instructions along the way throughout the video. However, the written process follows.
Heat Embossed Foiling + Laminator + Watercolor

(There are different ways to add foil in paper crafting. This is an example of one way.)
To begin, add powder to a trimmed or die-cut piece of smooth cardstock. This prevents stray embossing powder.
Stamp the images using a stamp positioning tool like Misti with a watermark ink like VersaMark.
To heat emboss, cover the stamping with embossing powder. I used white. Heat set with a heat gun tool. Then cool the heat embossing.
Preheat a laminator.
Trim decorative foil for the areas that you want foiled.
Place foil sheet face up over the heat embossed panel and run through a preheated laminator.
Cool the foiling then carefully remove the foil sheet from the heat embossed panel.
Watercolor the background using ink smooshing with very little water. Heat set.
Use this foiled panel for your project.
(I sometimes run the stamped panel with the foil layer through my preheated laminator without a folder or carrier sleeve, because it works best using my existing YourStory laminator.)
(Optional: Use a folded piece of paper to sandwich the stamped panel with foil sheet prior to foiling if that works with your laminator.)

Catch me next Wednesday with a new project for Unity’s Watercolor Wednesday. Thanks so much for visiting.
