Quick Card – Background Stamping

January 31, 2019 - by Laura Mooney

Quick Card – Background Stamping

Welcome

Welcome back for another Quick Card! My goal is to get you a quick card in under 20 minutes.

The Project

There are so many fantastic background stamps in Unity’s library! You don’t need to add much to get a fantastic card. For this card I used Hearts Of Old. The sentiment is from Every Single Day. I took me 13:25 to make.

The Steps

I gathered up my supplies.

Using the Misti was important for me because I stamped several times to get a nice rich image with the Distress Ink.

My last stamping was done with a spritz of water to activate the water reactivity.

Next was to trim down paper to the edges of the image. And then, I double matted, first on black, then on bright pink. Finally, I added my sentiment spot and sprinkled with some sequins.

As you can see, I had a little mishap whilst trimming. I didn’t let the ink fully dry so I got a smear. That’s ok, it simply told me where to add my sentiment.

Quick Tip: if you have an issue with your stamping or get an unwanted blob, you can place elements over these problem areas, rather than starting over.

The Challenge

Use one of the many awesome background stamps that Unity makes or create your own background using smaller stamps. You can even use just one small stamp, repeatedly, to create a fun background. Be sure to post your entries in the Unity Show & Tell FB group by February 7th for a chance at a prize!

Be sure to check back in next week for February’s month long challenge. I have fan favorite to share with you.

Stamp on!
