Welcome
Welcome back to the next edition of Quick Cards. Today I will focus on using just a sentiment, no image. Unity has so many, huge sentiments, that you can make a card with just an encouraging or meaningful sentiment, no fussy coloring required.
The Project
For this card I used the big sentiment from Spark, a border die, a stencil, some twine, and a sprinkling of sequins. And it only took me 18:05, and honestly it took that long because I unnecessarily fussed with my sequins.
The Steps
Here are the supplies I worked with, but I decided to add twine and sequins whilst working. To begin, I cut my watercolor paper with this fun scallop die.
And next I taped my stencil to my mat and inked 3 colors of yellow and orange to make the sun rays.
I love the water reactivity of Distress Ink, so I misted with the water spritzer.
I simply placed this into my Misti and stamped my sentiment right in the center of the sunburst. And to finish it off, I matted on to some orange card stock, tied with twine, and sprinkled some sequins. It’s a fast, simple card that you can send to anyone who needs some encouragement. Or you could change up to one of the many other great Unity sentiments for a thank you, hello, or birthday card.
The Challenge
For this week’s quick challenge, I challenge you to use just a sentiment stamp. You can create a pretty background or use some of the pretty paper I’m sure you have in your stash. The challenge will be open until January 17th. So visit us on the Unity Show and Tell FB page to add your project. I so look forward to seeing your take because I always learn from the projects that you post.
Stamp on, Lovelies!
