Gold watercolor butterflies card with Gansai Tambi.

March 6, 2019 - by Gaylynn

Gold watercolor butterflies card with Gansai Tambi.

Hi, it’s Gaylynn here with another installment of my Watercolor Wednesday series.  Here is a pretty way to add shimmer using gold watercolor.
.

This card incorporates stamping and gold watercolor to create butterflies with shimmer.  The sentiment and butterflies were stamped and embossed.  Layers were added and embellished.

Sentiment:
With sympathy.  Wishing you peace in the midst of sorrow.

Unity Stamp Co. product used:
Good Things With Wings
Original Misti

I made a quick video tutorial for this.  It includes instructions along the way throughout the video.  However, the written process follows.

(See also the video tutorial for this project.)
Powder your paper with a powder tool.  Stamp and heat emboss the butterflies and the sentiment onto watercolor paper.
I chose gold Gansai Tambi starry colors watercolor for the butterflies.  I applied two shades of gold using a watercolor brush.
Heat set between colors.  On another panel, splatter black ink.  I used Altenew watercolor for splatter.
Fussy cut the butterflies.  Add them and the sentiment to the splatter panel.  Embellish to finish.

Here is another look.

Catch me next Wednesday with a new project for Unity’s Watercolor Wednesday.  Thanks so much for visiting.
