Good morning! I’m back today for the weekly Monday feature for me here on the Unity Stamp Company Blog! So happy that I will be featuring the AMAZING Unity Kit of the Month set on Mondays here on the blog. These kits are always AMAZING, and they hold a special place in my heart since they were the first thing I purchased from Unity, and what got me hooked on Unity to begin with. Who DOESN’T love getting a happy package of stamps in the mail every month, right? And these kits just keep getting better and better. You can read all the details and info to sign up HERE, and see this month’s kit as well.
Today I’m sharing a couple cards using a favorite new product of mine – Shimmer Powders! They are so fun to pair up with heat embossing – and these large florals in the June Kit of the Month are PERFECT for this technique!
As always, here is this week’s video showing you how I created this card:
I heat embossed those floral images in gold on watercolor cardstock, then used two different colors of Shimmer Powders – Falling Leaves and Catherine Wheel.
Allowing these to dry naturally gives such a fun variation of color!
I chose two colors of shimmer powder that had a mixture of colors in them to truly maximize the effect.
Sentiments were heat embossed on a thin strip of black cardstock, trimmed apart, and then mounted with foam adhesive over the top.
I mounted the panels on coordinating card bases to help the color really pop – then added a few Nuvo Dream drops as a finishing embellishment!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope to see you back here next week – have a wonderful week!
