Crystal Glaze Resist with Distress Ink Stripes

July 8, 2019 - by Houses Built of Cards

Crystal Glaze Resist with Distress Ink Stripes

Good morning! I’m back today for the weekly Monday feature for me here on the Unity Stamp Company Blog! So happy that I will be featuring the AMAZING Unity Kit of the Month set on Mondays here on the blog. These kits are always AMAZING, and they hold a special place in my heart since they were the first thing I purchased from Unity, and what got me hooked on Unity to begin with. Who DOESN’T love getting a happy package of stamps in the mail every month, right? And these kits just keep getting better and better. You can read all the details and info to sign up HERE, and see this month’s kit as well.

This week I’m pulling out the distress inks and some Crystal Glaze for a fun resist technique and some beautiful inked stripes over this lovely image from the kit!

As always, here is this week’s video showing you how I created this card:

Crystal Glaze or Glossy Accents makes a super fun way to create an ink resist on an image – basically a part of the image that will “resist” the ink as you blend over the top, leaving the white underneath showing through.

I used a fun rainbow of distress ink to create my inked stripes – Picked Raspberry, Dried Marigold, Twisted Citron, Mermaid Lagoon, and Wilted Violet.

After the video, I trimmed it with a stitched rectangle, added a scallop die underneath, and mounted on some coordinating colored cardstock to finish off. Can you see the lovely shine from the Crystal Glaze?

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope to see you back here next week – have a wonderful week!
