Liquid Masking with Ink Blended Background

July 23, 2019 - by Crystal Thompson

Liquid Masking with Ink Blended Background

Hi there! Crystal here for Unity today with a liquid masking and ink blended background using the newest stamp set called Funny Farm.  For this card we will be using Nuvo Liquid Masking Fluid, Masking tape such as purple tape (washi tape can be a substitute), Ink and blender brush.

I wanted to make a one layer card with some dimension and DIY background that would look very “farmy”.

To make this card, I trimmed the card base to 4.25 x 5.50, then I stamped the Funny Farm stamp & sentiment with black ink. Next we added a very light layer of masking fluid, allowed about 10 minutes to dry.  Once that was dried up, I added purple tape diagonally in both directions to create a checked pattern.

Using red ink and the blender brush, I blended the red ink to the exposed pieces of card stock. Once the entire pieces have been blended, remove the purple tape and the masking fluid.

You can embellish with black nuvo drops or sequins. I made a full tutorial showing you how I made this card here:

Thanks so much for watching!
