Making Cards for Support and Encouragement

Hello, my Unity Friends…

I’m excited to combine a few Sentiment kits from Unity Stamp Company today. This card set contains two supportive cards and one birthday card. I just wanted to share how versatile and easy they are to mix and match to create the perfect card you need. Don’t Give Up and Feelings Matter are very close to my heart. When you don’t know the right words or what to do when your friend or loved one is struggling, I feel these images and sentiments are a start. You can send encouragement and support all wrapped up in paper and ink. Just to let them know they are seen, they are heard and they are forever loved.

The Project

The Details

Today’s card set is all about a warm and earthy feeling with a pop of color. I love this combination of teal, lime, and cream. I used digital patterned paper and changed the tone of the papers to fit my project and inks using Photoshop. I started out with the daisy floral from Don’t Give Up. I wanted it to look like a field of flowers are the bottom of the panel, so I just stamped it a couple of times to fill it all in. I stamped the flowers in a green-ish color. It just had a softer feel in green rather than using a dark brown or black. I popped in a few pieces of patterned paper behind for some color. Then I added some string or doilies, it just adds more things for the eye to look at. To finish it off, I stamped my sentiments and then added some Morning Dew Nuvo Drops for a dewdrop look.

I’m using the big floral image from Feelings Matter for this card. I just love how simple yet striking it is. I stamped it on some patterned paper and then used some Distress Ink to blend and age the edges of all the papers. I did the same thing to the cards above too. Just creates a cohesive look and softens things up. I layered up some die cut patterned papers and then added strips with a torn edge behind the sentiment. I just love the bit of color and movement the patterns create. Just a little surprise here or there. String and Nuvo Drops were necessary to finish this card off as well. Thanks for joining me today.
