Sparkly Firefly Jar Card

July 22, 2019 - by Houses Built of Cards

Sparkly Firefly Jar Card

Good morning! I’m back today for the weekly Monday feature for me here on the Unity Stamp Company Blog! So happy that I will be featuring the AMAZING Unity Kit of the Month set on Mondays here on the blog. These kits are always AMAZING, and they hold a special place in my heart since they were the first thing I purchased from Unity, and what got me hooked on Unity to begin with. Who DOESN’T love getting a happy package of stamps in the mail every month, right? And these kits just keep getting better and better. You can read all the details and info to sign up HERE, and see this month’s kit as well.

This week I’m using that fabulous jar image from the kit, paired up with some of the darling included firefly images, and adding some watercolor and fun sparkle!

As always, here is this week’s video showing you how I created this card:

I used a few different Distress Inks to watercolor the image – Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Squeezed Lemonade, and Mustard Seed. Since I was using a combination of blue and yellow inks, I had to be careful that I didn’t end up with any mixing of the colors, since when you mix blue and yellow it makes green – and I certainly didn’t want green on my card!

Sentiment is heat embossed on a strip of black cardstock, then some Glossy Accents and chunky iridescent star glitter finish this card off! You could use any chunky glitter for this technique – but the star adds a certain magical quality that I loved!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope to see you back here next week – have a wonderful week!
