1 Kit 3 Ways Challenge
We all know that Unity Stamp Co has some of the most versatile stamp kits in the business. August’s challenge is to use Unity kits to their fullest potential. Instead of one card or project, this challenge means you are going to have to make three projects using one kit!
I admit I have been OBSESSED with Gracielle kits lately. They are so easy to color, piece, and design with that I had to use them for my challenge. However, you can use whatever kits you would want. Sentiment kits, Angie Girls, and Jolande stamps would be INCREDIBLE for this challenge!
Inspiration #1
When I saw the new Gracielle releases I had to have them–especially the sunflowers in Shimmer and Shine. Sunflowers are the flower for sarcoma, a rare kind of cancer that my sister has. So whenever I see or create with sunflowers, I think of her and how much I love her. The first set of cards is dedicated to my sister Lauren.
Inspiration #2
The second set I made for the challenge uses the kit Naturally Beautiful. The oranges and citrus slices just scream summer to me. As a teacher on summer break, those summer vibes speak my language!
For the first card, I masked and embossed some citrus slices from the kit to make a border. Then I dobbed some distress stain on an acetate sheet, smooshed it on the paper and sprayed with water. It was SO EASY! I’ve been creating borders like this a lot lately… and it may be a challenge for you all in a little bit. (wink wink)
A clean and simple is another style perfect for the 1 kit 3 ways challenge. Your projects don’t have to be fussy to be beautiful.
Finally, I was inspired by Echo Noble on Instagram who did ombre stripes as a background in one of her cards. I set off the stripes with that beautiful black sentiment and a black puffy heart! The image is colored with Arteza watercolor pencils.
Challenge
- Create-Make 3 projects using 1 Unity Stamp Company Kit. I used 6 different styles for my cards, but if you get stuck, I suggest the Unity Quick Tips. Heather, Gaylynn, Echo, Donna, Crystal and the rest of the Design Team do such an incredible job featuring techniques. Another thing I love about Unity is they show you how to USE your stamps, not just collect them.
- Post- Posting your creations to Unity Show and Tell challenge album will be a little trickier than normal because of the three for one challenge. There are a few ways you can go about it. First, you could create a digital collage of your cards. I use a Layout App on my phone. Another way is to upload all 3 projects at once.
Conclusion
The winner will be chosen the first week of September, so make sure you get your entries into the 1 Kit 3 Ways Challenge album by August 31, 2019. I cannot wait to see all the different and incredible ways you are going to use your kits! Go play, my friends.
