Hello. It’s Gaylynn here with another installment of my Watercolor Wednesday series.
Today, I am sharing a way to get the look of minimal color watercolor.
For this card, I used watercolor markers with stamping to show minimal color watercolor. I also share two ways to apply watercolor using this technique.
Sentiment: Happy birthday.
Here are tips for this minimal color watercolor technique. To begin, I used a large stamp scene with a mixed media look to it. For watercolor, I added very little color to the folds and creases in the stamp. Then, I used water based Zig watercolor markers and then blended out the color with water only. With just a few dots and lines, the color softens with water and a brush. Finally, I also used a palette to blend color before adding it to the stamping. This technique provides an elegant look to card making.
