Good morning! I’m back today for the weekly Monday feature for me here on the Unity Stamp Company Blog! So happy that I will be featuring the AMAZING Unity Kit of the Month set on Mondays here on the blog. These kits are always AMAZING, and they hold a special place in my heart since they were the first thing I purchased from Unity, and what got me hooked on Unity to begin with. Who DOESN’T love getting a happy package of stamps in the mail every month, right? And these kits just keep getting better and better. You can read all the details and info to sign up HERE, and see this month’s kit as well.
Today I’m using that GORGEOUS and huge trees image from this month’s kit to create a fun, wintry, and snowy scene!
As always, here is this week’s video showing you how I created this card:
Distress Inks make such great watercolors! Simply smoosh them onto a clear block, nonstick mat, palette, or a smooth service, pick up with a bit of water, and color away!
This card has white splatters added two different ways – first, white acrylic paint thinned down to about equal parts with water and splattered on while the watercolored image was still wet, then a second time with a slightly stronger concentration of paint mixed with water and after the background dried, for a more opaque look. I love how this made it look so much like a real snowfall – bigger fuzzier flakes mixed with smaller ones!
The heat embossing in gold on the background adds just the right amount of glimmer, and then heat embossing the sentiment in white on black cardstock is the perfect way to make it pop out as well!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope to see you back here next week – have a wonderful week!
