Bright & Happy | Watercolor Birthday Card

October 1, 2019 - by Crystal Thompson

Bright & Happy | Watercolor Birthday Card

Happy Tuesday!! Today’s Color Combos with Crystal card we are creating a super-bright & happy birthday card with watercolors! The selection of bright colors and glitter make the whole thing pop!  The whole card is quick and easy so stay tuned to see how YOU can make this too!

For this project you will need:

  • Unity Stamp Co. Cake Time
  • Watercolors
  • Watercolor Cardstock
  • Score Board
  • Gold Heat Embossing Powder + accouterments
  • Pink Ink Pad
  • Nuvo Glitter Drops
  • Scissors
  • Foam Tape
  • Color Cardstock (for matting)

To begin, we are going to trim up all of our cardstock so the white watercolor will fit over the solid color cardstock. .25 inch on each side.

Then score a rectangle using your scoreboard, you will watercolor within this area.

On a seperate piece of watercolor cardstock, stamp the cake from CAKE TIME stamp set with your heat embossing ink pad and cover with Gold HE powder. Then heat set.

Now to the watercolor fun, while  your heat embossing cools off, grab your brightest Pink and purple colors and add a couple strokes to the scored watercolor cardstock.

When that is dried, move on to the cake and sweets on the cake.

Once that is all dried up, fussy cut with scissors and add foam tape on the back.

To assemble your card, stamp the sentiment from cake time with bright pink ink, then add the cake over the watercolor strokes. Finish up by embellishing the cake with some glittery Nuvo drops.

This is all very easy to make, check out my full tutorial video below:

Happy Cardmaking!
