Row of Christmas Trees

October 7, 2019 - by Houses Built of Cards

Row of Christmas Trees

Good morning! I’m back today for the weekly Monday feature for me here on the Unity Stamp Company Blog! So happy that I will be featuring the AMAZING Unity Kit of the Month set on Mondays here on the blog. These kits are always AMAZING, and they hold a special place in my heart since they were the first thing I purchased from Unity, and what got me hooked on Unity to begin with. Who DOESN’T love getting a happy package of stamps in the mail every month, right? And these kits just keep getting better and better. You can read all the details and info to sign up HERE, and see this month’s kit as well.

This week I’m sharing a simple and fun card design to create a one layer card, perfect for mailing out this Christmas season! This entire card design took me under 10 minutes start to finish – I promise it is super easy!

As always, here is this week’s video showing you how I created this card:

I used a mix of 3 different Distress Inks to create this blended background – Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint, and Forest Moss (for the splatters). I also added some background splatters with Perfect Pearls.

One of my favorite parts of ink blending? Pulling the masking tape off – always feels a bit like magic!

Once that blended background was done, it was as simple as stamping my image and sentiment in place. I also added a touch of details with a white gel pen. Not really necessary, but I thought it added a little something extra!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope to see you back here next week – have a wonderful week!
