Good morning! I’m back today for the weekly Monday feature for me here on the Unity Stamp Company Blog! So happy to be featuring the AMAZING Unity Kit of the Month set on Mondays here on the blog. These kits are always AMAZING, and they hold a special place in my heart since they were the first thing I purchased from Unity, and what got me hooked on Unity to begin with. Who DOESN’T love getting a happy package of stamps in the mail every month, right? And these kits just keep getting better and better. You can read all the details and info to sign up HERE, and see this month’s kit as well.
I love all the fun tree images in this month’s kit, and was pleasantly surprised to find that each of the trees was a separate stamp, so there are tons of possible ways to use them! I also thought it was fun to use an unexpected color combo – usually with trees like this I think of winter, Christmas, and snow, so the pop of bright color is unexpected and fun!
As always, here is this week’s video showing you how I created this card:
The colors of distress ink I used were: Ripe Persimmon, Peeled Paint, Fossilized Amber, Peacock Feather, and Candied Apple. These were the same colors for both stamping and adding splatters.
I ended up lining the trees up much like the packaging on the Kit of the Month – taller trees on the outside, smaller ones lined up on the middle.
You can do this with clear blocks and stamp one image at a time, but the MISTI makes it super quick and easy – AND, would be helpful if you wanted to put together an entire set of these!
Look at that texture! Distress ink and water were MADE for red rubber stamps I tell ya!
I trimmed that panel down and matted it with a bit of deep gray cardstock before mounting on a white cardbase to finish it off.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope to see you back here next week – have a wonderful week!
