Today I am featuring a New Beginnings card for a new home owner. It is surely and exciting time in a person’s life when they buy a home and this card is a perfect way to celebrate with them.
This card features the Cozy Cottage stamp set. I decided to use some of the paper from Unity’s Rustic Wood paper pack to paper piece the cottage. The cottage itself uses the small brown wood planks from this pack and the roof, window and door uses a white wood grain paper.
I stamped the cottage on white card stock twice and colored the tree, grass and sky on one of them. I colored the bushes and rocks on the second one and cut them out. Tip: if you have some of the first Unity paper packs, the paper is shiny, just use StazOn ink to stamp on them. You can even shade them with your alcohol markers but you need to give them a minute to dry before touching them.
I created a background by stamping Flourish Wonder on blue card stock. The sentiment comes from the kit With you I’m Home. I just trimmed everything down and matted it all with black card stock.
