Valentine’s Day Girl Version Color Combination

January 21, 2020 - by Crystal Thompson

Valentine’s Day Girl Version Color Combination

Hi there! Crystal Thompson here with a very fun color combination. We are nearing Valentine’s Day and I wanted to create a card that used some products that we all might have on hand. Today’s post is one for two. We are doing a girly card and next week we are doing a more masculine version using a background stamp and sentiment stamp.

For this project you will need the following:

  • 3 Ink Pads ( I am using Distress Oxide) in light pink, pink and red
  • GIRL TRULY STAMP SET
  • BOTANICAL BACKGROUNDS STAMP SET
  • Cardstock in white and red.
  • White Embossing Powder
  • Ink Blender
  • Foam

To start,  trim your white cardstock to be 4.25 x 5.50 . Then we will begin the heat embossing process. Using a MISTI stamp the Botanical Background and heat emboss in white.

When cool, it is time to begin the ink blending.

Start at the 1/3 mark on the top of the card with the lightest pink Distress and Blend up

Next, at the 2/3 line blend your middle shade of pink

Lastly, blend the red right at the bottom and blend up that way there are no harsh marks.

Once your ink had dried a bit, grab your paper towel and remove any ink from the heat embossed part.

Now we are going to add the sentiment from Girl Truly, heat emboss on red cardstock, add foam to the back and place on your card. You can embellish as you wish, I added a glitter strip.

I, of course, have a full video and can’t wait to tell you about all the details.

Thanks so much, be sure to stop by next week with a BOY version of a Valentine’s Day Card
