{Introducing Unity Stencils} Stenciled & Flocked Backgrounds

{Introducing Unity Stencils} Stenciled & Flocked Backgrounds

Hi Friends! I am so excited to be featured up on the blog today sharing with you some exciting news– Unity now offers stencils!

We totally thought this would fit it just right with our stamp line– I mean who doesn’t like a little stencil action to go with their stamps? So many techniques to try out.

I totally locked myself up in my craft room one afternoon and tried ALL OF THE THINGS with these stencils– I am talking inks, embossing pastes, glitter pastes, watercolors, foil, and FLOCK.

All of the techniques were quite magical– and I cannot wait to share them all with you at a later date- but there was something simplistic and magical about that flock. It’s fairly new to the industry and by Deco Foil– it comes in a variety of colors and unlike the flock of the good ol’ days where you had to sprinkle it about and make a huge mess– this is completely mess free and gives such an amazing full coverage fuzzy effect.

Seriously— so fuzzy– think fuzzy like the bridge of cat noses {I’m a cat person and that’s my analogy I am sticking too for flock haha}.

So without further ado– here’s how you can use your stencils to create an easy flocked background that you just wont be able to stop petting:

the classic combo of black on kraft always gets me– simple and elegant

and that texture.. are ya kidding? Love it!

What’s awesome about this technique is that when you use the negative you get like a bonus background- I love the way this black and white combo turned out too.

I added some die cut heart embellishments to this one to kind of make it pop a bit but keeping it with the black and white theme.

So honestly– the only thing left to decide is which colors you’re going to be grabbing from the shop to go along with our new stencils? And if you don’t have this stamp set already- what are you waiting for? It literally lives on my craft desk!

That’s all I have for you today, friends– I hope that this tutorial inspired you to create- if you recreate this look I’d totally love to see it over on the Unity {show & tell}– be sure to TAG me so I can see your lovely creation!

xoxo,
