Hello, Alaine here with some masculine birthday card inspiration for this months challenge. I found that a few things that I fall back on for masculine cards are metals, wood, and distressed edges.
Inspiration #1
There is no better way to start a birthday card than with one of Unity Stamp Co’s Angie Guys by Angie Blom. This one is Sawyer Guy and he has a sentiment that is perfect for a birthday card. I paired him with a grey wood paper from the Rustic Wood paper pack. Trim the wood paper down and mount on an A2 size piece of black card stock. Cut a domed panel , stamp the image and color with Copic markers. Stamp the sentiment on white and trim down. Use Distress Oxide ink in Hickory Smoke to ink the edges of the sentiment and the domed panel. Mat both pieces with black card stock. Staple some black twine behind the sentiment. Assemble the card as shown and use a mini stapler to add some silver staples randomly.
Inspiration #2
The stamp set Old Ways has this cute sentiment that would be fun for someone feeling their age. Stamp the phone around the card leaving a place for the focal image. Trim this panel down. ink the edges with Distress Oxide ink in Weathered Wood, then mount on black card stock. Stamp another phone and color it with Copics and fussy cut it out. Mount the colored phone and the sentiment with foam tape onto the card.
Inspiration #3
This card has so many elements. Start with one of the new Deco Foil Toner Card Fronts from the Circles A Plenty pack. Use Copic markers in E84 and E87 to color in the circles. Foil the whole card front with silver foil, trim it down and distress the edges with a distress tool or scissors. Mat with black card stock. Stamp and color the vehicle from Scout Adventure. Trim down and distress the edges, then mat with black card stock. Place on the foiled card front. Stamp the Happy Birthday from the So Glad you Were Born sentiment kit and mat with black card stock. Punch a hole on the side and tie burlap string through the hole and wrap around the card stock 3 times. Attach the whole card to an A2 size card base.
