Good morning! I’m back today for the weekly Monday feature for me here on the Unity Stamp Company Blog! So happy to be featuring the AMAZING Unity Kit of the Month set on Mondays here on the blog. These kits are always AMAZING, and they hold a special place in my heart since they were the first thing I purchased from Unity, and what got me hooked on Unity to begin with. Who DOESN’T love getting a happy package of stamps in the mail every month, right? And these kits just keep getting better and better. You can read all the details and info to sign up HERE, and see this month’s kit as well.
Today’s card features a simple masking tip, with a fun trick when coloring to help give the illusion of more detailed masking!
Here is this week’s video detailing my process:
As I was looking at the beautiful images in the March Kit of the Month, I really wanted to combine the lovely tulip border with the girl holding the bouquet of tulips, and thought it would be fun to have her standing behind the tulips. Out came the masking paper – but I didn’t fussy cut out any more than I needed to! Watch the video to see what I mean…but don’t feel like you have to cut out all the details on an image when masking – only where the images are going to overlap!
Then it was time for some simple Copic coloring – and by coloring in blue for the girl’s jeans below where I had actually masked, I was able to make the picture look more realistic, and make it look like I had masked further down the image than I actually had!
Finished off with some bright yellow cardstock for the cardbase – just to help those yellow flowers pop even more! And this is a nice and flat, nearly one layer card, and perfect for mailing!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope to see you back here next week – have a wonderful week!
