Well hello Unies, Dawn Bryson here! You guys will be putting up with me for the next three months, as I bring you the monthly challenges. It is a huge honor, and I hope to make the Unity team proud.
THE CHALLENGE!
This month, I have a sketch challenge for you. Please, remember this is to inspire not require. (As Whitney would say) My hope is that this will encourage you to use some scraps, washi, ribbon and other things in your stash.
THE SKETCH!

CARD #1
For this first card go ahead and cut some patterned paper into strips. Then, stamp the lovely Itty Bitty, Queen of the universe onto a tag, add some color to your tag with distress ink. Just go for it! Smoosh on a color or two. Dry that with your heat tool before adding your sentiment. Embellish with some vintage buttons, for the centers of the buttons use the unity Burlap string. Distress the edge with a soft touch just to add some dimension. This is a really great way to use up some of those scraps laying around.
CARD #2
Creating this next card was a lot of fun! You are going to take one of the new Amazing toner card fronts, Circles a plenty . (These are honestly, a must have and under 5 dollars.) Go ahead and foil that using Rainbow foil. Cut it into strips (I know, I know it’s super scary to cut things up, but you can do it.) After that go ahead and assemble the base by die cutting a white panel and add your Tag with the stamped image. For this I used, Coolest birthday penguin by Lisa Arana. Mount onto colored card stock and add enamel dots for embellishments and your done. Again, quick and easy and the sparkle on this card is really amazing.
CARD #3
This weeks final card is using Unity’s Coffee lovers paper pack. Check back in the shop soon, as it is currently out of stock…no worries though it will be back. For this card stamp the coffee cup from Graciellies, Stay strong stamp set. Instead of using a tag go ahead and just use the coffee cup in its place, remember this sketch is meant to inspire you not require. Color the stamped image with some copic markers and then add a sentiment and some sequins, distress the edge with some vintage photo distress ink and your all done. This card shows you other ways you can play if your unable to find a tag.
There you have it, three super quick cards to get your mojo started. This challenge will go until the end of April. Make any card or project with a birthday theme. Be sure to enter your card in the challenge album on the Unity Show and Tell Facebook page. I will see you all next next Thursday, I can’t wait to see what you all come up with!
Inky hugs,
