Tone on Tone Blending with a Stencil

April 28, 2020 - by Crystal Thompson

Tone on Tone Blending with a Stencil

Hi there, Crystal here with a fun tone-on-tone blending Girl Truly.

Today’s color combos are a variety of soft pinks and something that could be used for Mother’s day without using a mother’s day set. I am loving ink blending on kraft cardstock as it softens the whole thing up.

For today’s project you will need the following:

  • Girl Truly Stamp Set.
  • Love Stencil
  • Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide
  • Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide
  • 2 pieces of Kraft Cardstock
  • Ink Blender
  • Foam Adhesive
  • MISTI
  • Black Ink

Pretty simple right?! Let’s get started:

To begin, trim the cardstock 5 x 4.25 then the center 4.75 x 4.00 inches.

Blend the Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide on the smaller of the cardstock.

Using the Love Stencil with worn lipstick over the ink blending.

Using the MISTI, place your sentiment stamp and with black ink stamp down

Since we are stamping over ink, it might take a couple tries to get a nice and dark sentiment

Grab your foam adhesive and use it to center the stamped cardstock over the larger kraft card base.

At this point, you can splatter lightly some water so your Distress Oxides react and get tiny water droplets

Embellish with your favorite sequin.

A super easy and fun way to create a mother’s day card! Using your supplies that you might have grabbed for the valentines or other holidays.

I do not have a video for you today, but I sure will next week as the weather gets better and I can get some quiet.

Have a lovely day!

Crystal
