Hi there! Crystal Thompson here with a 4 ink rainbow card tutorial. We are keeping very clean and simple and even doing a DIY watercolor background! Stay tuned on how we are making this card.
For this project you will need the following:
- Trust It Will Be Okay stamp set
- 2 pieces of white card stock
- 4 ink colors – Pink, orange, lime green & light blue
- Mini Misty
- Black watercolor + brush
To begin we are going to start the DIY watercolor background on the back card panel. Creating stripes just on the top and bottom edge. I am using black watercolor and they are not perfect. Let them dry.
We are moving on to placing the large stamp from the Trust it Will be Okay stamp set. Placed on the MISTI. The white cardstock is a square so it’s 4.25×4.25. So be sure to center the stamp on the MISTI.
We will begin the rainbow by inking up the top corner of the heart with pink ink. Then coming in with the orange on to the next area. Then the lime green and blue. I like using the corner of the ink pad to control where I add the color.
To put the card together we are adding foam adhesive on the back to raise and give it dimension. Then with the same black watercolor brush, splatter the whole card with it. I did protect my stamping with a scrap paper so it would not take away from the colorful heart.
To finish up, I stamped in black ink the sentiment from Trust it will be ok, then using a paper trimmer cut it nice and straight. Then placed that on the card with foam adhesive.
That does it, the card is very simple and all done with ONE stamp set.
Thanks so much for joining me today, below is the full tutorial.
Cheers!
Crystal
