Hello Unies,
Today we are going to look at three cards using Inked backgrounds, Lets get started!
Card #1
This first card uses a simple square of color, for this you’ll need 1/2″ PURPLE TAPE, or a stencil. Go ahead and color your square with GINA K INK in OCEAN MIST. For the image use PEONY HUGS and stamp that in AMALGAM INK. Color with copic markers (Y11,Y13 & G17,G43) Cut that out and glue down with CONNECT GLUE. Letting the flowers fall off the edge adds so much to a card. you will need a larger envelope when doing this. Mounting your card on Kraft keeps the soft feel of the card. Go ahead and add your sentiment, or quote chip, place a few sequins around and your done.
Card #2
This next card, we did stripes with ink, I love, how this one turned out. For this again use a stencil or the 1/5″ purple tape. I used the GINA K inks in Dusty Rose, Sweet Mango, Wild Dandelion, Key Lime, Ocean mist and Lovely Lavender. After you make your strips go head and stamp your image again with Amalgam ink, and color with copic markers. Cut that out, and adhere with mounting tape. Add your sentiment and sequins and your finished. The flower is from BLOSSOMING BEAUTY and the sentiment is from HAPPY MOMENTS. When I was done I sprayed the whole card with shimmer spray, Love all things sparkle. I did mount this on white, It had so much color I wanted that to be the focus.
Card #3
This last card, were gonna go ahead and use a stencil. Color your background with Lemon drop ink, Stamp out your flowers from I AM WITH YOU with the VERSAFINE CLAIR and watercolored with Karin Markers. Fussy cut that out, and adhere to card. Add a sentiment with foam tape and some enamal dots. Mount on purple just allowing the top and bottom to show.
Ink Tips: When doing the square or stripes go ahead and layer a few times making the color nice and dark, with the stencil going over the edge a little more gives a different look. The center will be lighter than the outer edge.
So, there you have it for this week. I am so happy so many of you are playing. The cards have been out of this world. Don’t forget the albums stays forever so you can always refer back to it for inspiration.
This challenge will go until the end of May. Be sure to enter your card in the challenge album on the Unity Show and Tell Facebook page.
Happy Crafting,
Dawn Bryson
