Simple Sympathy Card | DIY Die Cut Banner| Blend & Cut Shapes

Hi there! Crystal Thompson here with an easy project for Unity Stamp Company. We are doing an awesome blend and cut DIY shapes. For this, we are going to be using the newest release called Happy Mother’s Day and for the sentiment Brody’s love.

I feel sympathy cards are never easy to make, and making them ahead can help. For our color combo, we are keeping it traditional with pink florals and the ombre blue banner.

Now let me tell you how I made this card!

Using the Happy Mother’s day basket and I like to color ahead of time, so I can just pop these cards together. I have a piece of white Nina cardstock. This is going to be the same card stock use for our card front.

I have two colors of Ink for the DIY cut banner:  Something borrowed and It’s a boy.

I felt that because I had used some blue watercolor on the outline, that we would be able to really match those. So we’re going to begin with a light blue, and start at the center of our cardstock, starting with that darkest, because once you get the ink on a brush, it makes it really dark. Then bringing that down and then utilizing the brush to blend that light blue and the dark blue.  Then using the paper trimmer I cut the edges of a thin banner and cut with scissors I trimmed a triangle at the bottom. And ta-dah we have a banner.

The sentiment was then stamped in the Something Borrowed down on the corner of the card. Then the whole cut-outs were placed on the card with foam adhesive.

For the embellishments, I got clear Novo drops and used it to adhere the blue sequins in different variations of blue colors. But I thought this would be really cool. And by adding my glue in a pattern and in a direction.

And guys that does it for me, a super easy card, minimal supplies, and just very clean and simple.

Something that somebody grieving would probably enjoy.

Thank you so much. Have a lovely day.
