Watercoloring two ways, Whit-Kit

Happy Saturday, Echo here with a video tutorial on watercoloring two ways, Whit-kit. Using May’s card kit- Have Courage. I thought I would try some watercoloring. It fees like forever since I watercolored. If you haven’t heard about the Whit-kit. Take a look here for all the details of this exciting membership Unity is offering.

What’s inside May’s Whit-kit?

Kit used:

May’s Have Courage. Whit-kit card kit.

Watercoloring two ways, Whit-kit

I forgot how much fun watercoloring can be. It’s really relaxing for me. I love both of these cards. The traditional watercoloring and the distress oxides on black card stock turned out awesome too. The distress oxides are type of pigment ink and works on dark card stock. So much fun using them in this manner. If you don’t have watercolors and have regular distress inks. They can be used just like any watercolor.  Distress inks are translucent with no pigment. So they would need to be used on white water color paper. Just remember to use little water when working with oxides on regular card stock. It really does’t take much water to get the oxide inks moving. You just don’t want to over work the card stock and it starts pilling the paper.

I can’t decide which one is my favorite. I love the white with traditional watercoloring but that distress oxide on black keeps grabbing my eye! Which one is your favorite?

I hope you found some inspiration with watercoloring two ways, Whit- kit! If you try this technique out for yourself, tag me over on the Unity Show and Tell Facebook group. I would love to see what you make using this kit. I love seeing your creations so much.
Thank you so much for joining me!
I will be looking forward to seeing you next month. Stay tuned for more inspiration with June’s kit. If you missed April’s blog post from me you can find it here
