Detailed Watercolor Leaves using Distress Ink

Detailed Watercolor Leaves using Distress Ink

Good morning! I’m back today for the weekly Monday feature for me here on the Unity Stamp Company Blog! So happy to be featuring the AMAZING Unity Kit of the Month set on Mondays here on the blog. These kits are always AMAZING, and they hold a special place in my heart since they were the first thing I purchased from Unity, and what got me hooked on Unity to begin with. Who DOESN’T love getting a happy package of stamps in the mail every month, right? And these kits just keep getting better and better. You can read all the details and info to sign up HERE, and see this month’s kit as well.

Today’s card is one that I started with one idea in mind, and totally switched gears before I was finished! You can watch the video to see it happen – but I was so blown away by the incredible detail on those leaves, that I had to change my plan. I love the finished result though – so the change was worthwhile!

Here is the video for this week sharing how I created this card:

Can you see that incredible detail on those leaves? Wow, right?!?!?!

To preserve the detail of the leaves, I used a wet brush to go around the outer edges of the leaves to add a soft watercolor effect to the outside areas.

I also added a few splatters with the same color of distress inks, allowed everything to dry well, then stamped my sentiment over the top before trimming a bit and mounting on a white cardbase.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope to see you back here next week – have a wonderful week!
