Shimmer card + embossing on color cardstock ~ tutorial

September 9, 2020 - by Gaylynn

Shimmer card + embossing on color cardstock ~ tutorial

Hello, Gaylynn here.  For technique time today, I share how to create a shimmer card plus added heat embossing.  This technique is extra nice over color cardstock.

This is a heartfelt shimmer card that shines much better in person.  It was made in one layer and with added texture.

Sentiment:  Deepest Sympathy.

Helpful tips:

Here are helpful tips for creating this card.  To begin, trim or die-cut a panel from color cardstock.  Next, prepare the card for embossing by adding powder with a powder tool over the color cardstock.  Then, stamp with white pigment ink.  Also, for added texture, add white embossing powder then heat set.  Next, wipe off excess powder from the paper, once everything is set.  Then, lightly mask the stamping using the stamp backing.  Next, add white paint splatters to the paper and dry.  Finally, adhere the panel to the card base and then add sequins.
Here is another look:

Here is my video tutorial for this project.  It will detail the full process.
