Unity Stamp Co. is sponsoring an October Challenge, titled Warm Red/Cool Blue. Build your own palettes using these 2 color ranges as a starting point and enter your creations in the Challenge album in the Unity Show & Tell FB Group!
For inspiration, I created this card with the requisite colors and gold and brown. I used my new Tim Holtz Oxide inks, Speckled Egg and Crackling Campfire, as color inspiration. Stamps in August’s Kit of the Month , Count Your Blessings, were calling to me, so, I paired them with several Stencil Girl stencils and the Bitty Backgrounds stamp set.
I started by stamping the girl in Antique Linen ink and and using my Prismacolor pencils to color her in. For further definition, I used pens to add texture to the hat and hair. I created the background paper by using the Tim Holtz sprays and then using the red and blue oxides, plus Scattered Straw Oxide to add stenciled interest. I used a couple small background stamps around the girl to mirror the background.
To complete the card, I added Kraft paper to frame the papers and stamped and framed the sentiment.
As you can see, this challenge is not limiting, but rather empowering as you decide the color palette! Please feel inspired to create something new this week tapping into the broad range of reds and blues, from dark to light!
Happy crafting! Joyce
