Hi there! Crystal here with Color Combos with Crystal finishing up the month with the awesome Purple Blends Combinations! We have made 4 Cards with the Wilted Violet & Seedless Preserves inks from Tim Holtz’ Distress Oxide Collection.
This inspiration is a great way to create cards with scraps and extra die cuts you might have laying around.
For this card, we are using the following products:
- Unity Stamp Company Botanical Background
- Distress Oxide in Wilted Violet + Seedless Preserves
- White & Black Cardstock
- Black Nuvo Drops or black embellishments
- Clear Heat Embossing Powder + Tools
To begin, trim the white cardstock/card base 4.25 x 5.50 inches. Ink up and stamp the Botanical Background stamp set with Heat Embossing Ink, stamp down the white cardstock, add clear embossing powder, and heat set.
Then using the black sentiment die cut, repeat the above process of stamping the Botanical Background, cover with clear and heat emboss.
You can do the same process above with extra strips or shaped zig zags.
Once that has cooled, being the ink blending of the Seedless Preserves on the Card Base, and the Wilted Violet on the edges.
Repeat the ink blending process with the ZigZags. Once that has dried up, use a lint-free cloth to remove excess Distress Oxide ink from the stamped Heat Embossed florals.
To put the card together, adhere one of the zig-zag to the back center of the sentiment die cut. Add foam adhesive and place sentiment on the card.
Add the remainder of the zig-zags to the back of the sentiment cut, and embellish with Black Nuvo Drops.
