Cheers!

October 23, 2020 - by Julissa Sargo

Cheers!

Many of us crafty folks are gearing up for the holidays with beautifully hand stamped cards, but how about some fun tags? Hi Unies, this is Jules of Paper Gems by Jules back on the blog today to share a beautiful wine tag using three of my FAVORITE stamp sets:

  • Heart of Christmas 10-20 Sentiment Kit
  • Northwoods Peace
  • Cheerful Prancing

I used a die cut for the wine tag, but you can just use a 7.5″ x 3″ piece of cardstock, fold it 3″ in from the top and punch a 2″ circle in that smaller folded section.  For this example, I used two of the four reindeers in the “Cheerful Prancing” stamp set.  Below are the steps taken to make these lovely wine tags.

Step 1.

Using my Misti, I stamped the trees from the “Northwoods Peace” stamp set.  For one tag I used green ink and the other I used a light teal.

Step 2.

Next, I stamped the deer.  I used the outline as well as the solid deer.  For the solid deer, I used Versamark in order to gold emboss it.  The other reindeer was stamped with a copic friendly ink and colored it using my copics.

Step 3.

Next, I stamped the “cheers” sentiment from the “Heart of Christmas” stamp set.  I used a dark brown for one and a dar teal for the other and fussy cut each out.

Step 4.

Folding over the top part of the tag, I used some distress ink on the top just to add a little dimension and separate the top and decorated part of the wine tag.

Step 5.

Finally, before adding it all together, I splattered some Picket Fence Distress Spray Stain to give an organic snowy feel.

Step 6.

For the final touches, I added a snowy bottom by die-cutting white card stock using the same wine tag die and ripping the top, giving it a distressed look.  Next, I spun some natural burlap string around the bottom.  Using some foam squares, I adhered the reindeer and added the sentiment over the reindeer.

This is a perfect way to share some holiday cheer in your gift giving.  Thank so much for joining me on this little crafty adventure.  I’d love to see how you use your Unity stamps for things other than cards.  Make sure to post your creations on the Unity {Show & Tell} Facebook page so you can inspire others.

Until next time…

Happy crafting!

Jules
